Amenities

The whole list, including the absences.

Hotel amenity lists usually only tell you what is there. The second group below is the one people actually need before they book.

In every room

  • King or twin bedding, linen changed every third day or on request
  • Split-system air conditioning and heating
  • Blackout blinds
  • Kettle, loose-leaf tea and a grinder with beans from the roaster on Gould Street
  • Bathroom products from a maker in Marrickville, refillable rather than miniature
  • Unmetered wi-fi
  • A safe that fits a laptop

Not in any room

The single thing guests write to us about most, in both directions.

  • No televisions
  • No minibar — the courtyard bar is downstairs and open to house guests until late
  • No room service after 22:00

In the building

  • Sal, the ground-floor dining room, 38 seats
  • The courtyard bar, open Wednesday to Sunday
  • A plunge pool and a cedar sauna in the courtyard
  • Boards, wetsuits and towels to borrow, first come
  • An outdoor shower by the side gate, which is not a luxury in a beach town
  • Laundry, same day if it is in by nine
  • A lift to all three floors

Getting around

  • Four off-street parking spaces, booked ahead, $35 a night
  • Bicycles to borrow
  • The 333 to the city stops two streets away
  • Bondi Junction station is ten minutes by car, twelve by bus

Per-room detail

What varies between categories is bathrooms, outlook and outdoor space rather than fittings: every room gets the same bed, the same air conditioning and the same wi-fi. The differences are set out on each room page — which categories have a bath, which have a balcony, and which one has a kitchen.

Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 10:00. Step-free routes, roll-in showers and door widths are on the accessibility page, which is specific rather than reassuring.
